.22 shell holder
When I go to shoot my .22's, I like to take along the CCI boxes to store my shells instead of the loose bulk pack box. Are there any aftermarket boxes for .22 shells? I know you can say just buy more CCI but that becomes expensive for plinking ammo.

IMO you'd be nuts to pay $12 for a box to hold 100 .22LRS, unless the box were coming pre-loaded with match-grade ammo!
Might as well just buy the CCI ammo, and reuse the box.
The CCI 100 round slidy-top plastic boxes are probably the best of these, but ANY decent "target" type ammo should come in flimsier, but potentially reusable cardboard boxes with 50 round plastic inserts that isolate the bullets from one another.
All the federal non-bulk ammo is packed this way. Cheap aguila ammo is packed this way. Of course the true match ammo (Wolf, Eley, etc) is packed this way. The only one I know of that isn't is Remington,
So you could simply buy a brick or two then reuse the boxes indefinitely.
Of course you can also probably find these boxes (including the better CCI ones) in the trash heap at any gun or shooting range, and/or whomever was there would be happy to have you recycle them.
Edit: I'm talking about boxes like this:
The Aguila ones are cheapo, where the four bullets at the corners hold the base of the plastic in place, but this still works fine for casual storage.

I am always picking up the CCI boxes when I can. I soak the stickers off with solvent, and load them up with bulk ammo from the milk cartons. I use different colored electrical tape to ID different brands (Remington-red, Winchester-green, etc). They stack nice in ammo cans too. 0 -

You can heat the label with a hair dryer and the peel right off.0 -
Don't spend a bundle on a special box just for routine use.
I cover the CCI 100-rnd boxes carefully in duct tape. It tends to keep them whole and even if they crack, they will still hold together nicely.
Like the others said, the 50-rnd cardboard boxes with the inserts are nice, too and you can also extend their utility with duct tape.
These boxes last for a long time wrapped in tape. It doesn't require a huge investment and is quick to do.0 -
