If you get a MK III it will not go together the same as your MK II one hammer has to be cocked other model it CAN NOT be cocked. I dont like the MK III but if you want the 22/45 model by all means get the model that lets you use 1911 GRIPS.

in my opinion, the mk2 is the better handgun. the mk3 has a better mag release, much like the 1911. however, the loaded chamber indicator is it's downfall. it can be deactivated by grinding off the ears that rest next to the chambered round. after doing this it will cease to hang -up. i done one like this for a customer and he was happy as h^^L

I have a MK III Hunter with the fluted barrel. It is one fine pistol...got cocobolo stocks. Never had a II so can't compare, but I wouldn't part with my III for anything. It is work to put it back together, but one doesn't need to disassemble that often. Have had no trouble with the chamber indicator or anything on this pistol. It works !

I've both a MKII 5.5 bull and a MKIII 4.5 fluted hunter. Both are very accurate neither one has any problems after many thousands of rounds each. They have been 100%
The trigger on the MKII is smoother and lighter , more then good enough for me.
The MKIII trigger is a little heavier, but fully acceptable, and I prefer it's 1911 style magazine release. I have never had a problem with the loaded chamber indicator , bit I clean and lube my mk's after every 500 rounds or so, I think this really helps to keep them trouble free.
I would never trade either one, they are both great trouble free shooters.
I don't like the 22/45 grip poly framed ones, the balance is off for me.

Got a Mk III last year. No problems at all. Eats whatever I put in the mag. Trigger gets better with use. No problem with loaded chamber indicator. Has a built in lock, which I leave unlocked. Mag release better than the II. I like mine. More accurate than I am.
