Converting a Beretta 92d to shoot single action.

Bear with me, I'm not sure how to explain this. Is it possible to convert a Beretta 92d to shoot in single action after the 1 shot? Or in other words how can I get the hammer to lock back after the slide it pulled?
I would like to keep the same spurless hammer. But my guess would be that's not possible.
What I want to end up with is a spurless hammer 92fs without a safty or decocker.
Would the slide from the 92d work with the frame from a 92fs? This would be what I want, but the hammer would not be spurless like I want.

    Please guys don't waste my post count with useless remarks.

    I've been researching this for several weeks and can't really find a good answer to my question. I'm only asking here as a last resort. I really would like to convert this 92g into a this hybred.

    If it's not possible than please let me know. Or direct me to a place/site that can help me.
    If you don't want to help and/or feel like posting comments about me that don't have anything to do with my question than take it to the general forums and have away at it.

    Mods, please don't let this post this post get full of useless remarks that have nothing to do with my question.

    Sorry if this comes off rude, but I just really would like to get real advice on this topic.

    To get back to the original question - the "double action only" version of the Beretta 92 could, theoreticaly be converted to conventional - i.e.DA first shot SA subsequent shots - by changing out the sear group and exchanging the slide for one with the safety/decocker lever. I would think it would be FAR cheaper to trade in for a 92FS.

    So the D slide won't work with the FS sear group? I'm pretty sure the D hammer won't have the notch need to lock it back, so a FS hammer will most likeily have to be used, right?

    I don't want an true FS. I just want a 92 without the safty/decock.

    In other words, you're basically trying to convert the decocker-only 92d to the standard single/double 92SF, only without an external safety or decocker?

    I'm not sure why you'd want to do this.

    I think most authorities would tell you that this hypothetical platform would be intrinisically unsafe. As an analogy, it would be something like walking around with a cocked and UNLOCKED 1911 that had no grip safetly that you could NOT lock!

    Yes, the gun shouldn't go off unless you pulled the trigger, but cocked guns with short trigger throws are VERY easy to set off unintentionally with poor trigger "hygiene" or because of "startle" effect. A gun like this would be a liability magnet.

    While I think between the various iterations of the Beretta 92, there probably IS some way to jury rig something like this, I don't think any responsible gunsmith would actually build it for you. Even if one would, once you factored in parts and labor, it probably wouldn't be cost-effective. (Though I suppose if you did the work yourself AND you happened to have a bunch of spare Beretta fire-control parts lying around, it might be).

    In all honesty selling your gun, adding in another $150, and then swapping it for the 92SF is probably the safest, easiest, and cheapest way to get a viable single-action mode.

    If you want a decocker only version you could find a 92G.

    Actually, THAT is probably the easiest thing to do.

    Take your Beretta 92SF to a good gunsmith and ask him to bob your hammer.

    Spare Beretta 92 hammers run under $30, so its not too expensive to reverse this should you want to do so later. EG:

    I believe the gun you describe is called the "92D" (ie I think they already share the same frame).
