German Mauser 22 Caliber

I have an old German Mauser 22 Rifle that was my Granddfathers from WWII. Said he found it on the battle field and sent it home. It looks just like a German Mauser K98, except it is a 22 Caliber. This rifle looks great! It even has the same marks of on it like the K98, like the stamp of the Third Reich and a few others. Does anybody know what a gun like this is worth? Did the Germans use this gun in combat for the Hitler Youth?

    No they were training rifles for Hitler Youth.
    Might have been some shot at Americans and Russians in desperate last days last ditch defense but that is all.
    I don't know a dollar value but if in good condition and unaltered (I know one vet who had one heavily sporterized.) it is substantial.

    Per your description, it might be a training rifle dating to the mid/late 30's known as KKW's, they were as close to 98 K's as a .22 training rifle could be.

    Here is all the info:

    Left side has KAL .22, Lang Fur Buchsem #265948

    Top has Gustloff-Vierke, WaffenwerkSuhl

    Right side has KK Wehrsportgewhr

    The bolt has the the same three numbers as the rifles last three.

    It verifies that it's a KKW made by Gustloff. We still need quality photos to ascertain that it's factory original, and at least Very Good condition, for valuation purposes.
