A/R gas block queston?

Is the gas port the same size hole on A/R15 223 & AR10 308? I am not getting enough rear movement to pick up new round after spent round is ejected.This is a converson from 308 to 338 FEDERAL.Changed bbl. gas block[lower profile] & tube.One shot weapon.Any ideas?

  Have you checked for leaks [?]
  Check for bent tube.
  Carrier key tight [?]
  Gas block not lined up with barrel hole [?]
