Remington 550-1 Assembly/Disassembly
I have been asked to repair a 550 for a friends dad. It as not ejecting shells properly. When asked, he said it had never been cleaned (and it hasn't). Taking it apart has been fairly easy ans straight forward. Problem is, as I began to reassemble a hidden spring fell out into my hand.
I need a detailed set of instructions w/pics to get it back together for him. Anyone out there have any?
Chris

Welcome to the forum. Suggest you try e-gunparts.com. They have schematics of lots of rifles including the Remingtons. Should be able to see the spring in the schematics and figure out where it went. Or google assembly of Remington 550...may be posted. 0 -

Thanks for the welcome. On the website, e-gunparts.com schematic shows parts but not how they go together (very clearly). I also spent 90 minutes searching the assembly online last night. What I found has been little help. Didn't want to waste everyones time here with an easily found question needing an answer.0 -
There are some manuals od NAZebay.
You might try to google a manual also.0 -
If all else fails, email me a picture of the spring and I'll take a close look at my own 550 and see if I can help. 0 -

Chris, you may not be able to access Steve's site by clicking the links from here. He had problems with people trying to download the entire database and crashing his server.
