RECIEVED A OLD S&W 38 SPECIAL. WHATS IT WORTH?

I HAVE A S&w 38 SPECIAL 6 SHOT THAT WAS A OLD POLICE ISSUE.ITS A MODEL 10-2 WITH A 4 INCH BARREL AND DIAMOND CHECKERED WOOD GRIPS. ANY HELP ON VALUE AND HISTORY WOULD BE GREAT. HAD TROUBLE FINDING INFO ON THE 10-2

    Many of these old police issue weapons were "rode hard and put away wet" for most of their careers. Without detailed pictures and a gunsmiths check for timing, end-shake, frame stretch, flame cutting, etc. there is no real way to give any meaningful value.

    A lot of them were shot once a year for qualification and have no more wear than a lot of holster rubs, too.
    It is good to know what you are looking at.
