    use .45 autorim ammo, problem solved.
    Why would you not want to use moon clips in the first place?
    I like them, they keep my brass together and they are fast

    With practice they are VERY fast.
    Funny I always thought speed loaders were crude moon clips. I guess it's just what you learn on.
    They're cheap, they're fast, and they work.
    O BTW that is full moon clips not the half or 2 rounders

    For whatever its worth, beyond the moon clips versus auto rim discussion you might want to read the 45 Auto Rim article in the current (April 2011) issue of Shooting Times magazine. It is about shooting 45 auto rim and recommended best loads for accuracy. The author thinks the auto rim brass with 45 Colt bullets provides improved accuracy over 45 ACP in 1917 and S&W model 25 revolvers. I haven't tried the recommendations yet but the proposal to use semi-wadcutter type bullets rather than the typical 45 ACP round nose seems to make sense.

    Then don't worry about it! Once you secure a mitt-full of moon clips, either the three round, or six round variety, you will have a blast shooting ACP!

    If you handload, you can tailor the ACP to the loadings mentioned further up this string. Best, Joe

    I see no actual reason to delete this. There Is nothing offensive and lots of good information. What is the purpose for deleting this thread?
