barrel length on Ruger Mark I pistol

Is this considered a 6" barrel?

no, it is a 6 7/8 heavy tapered barrel.
The Ruger Mark I had 3 barrel options being the above, a 5 1/2 heavy, and a 5 1/4 tapered.0 -
To measure barrel on a pistol (revolvers are measured differently)
Clear weapon, then cock it so FP is not protruding. Slide cleaning rod down bore until touches bolt face, mark rod at muzzle, withdraw, measure rod. Chsmber is considered part of barrel.
Revolvers are measured to the face of the forcing cone.0 -
the correct information is given by 11b6r I believe it is a 6" looks like your tape sticks out in front of barrel more then 1/2 inch . and stub of barrel goes into the receiver about 3/4 inch. 0 -
That is a 6-7/8 inch target model.6 inch models have fixed sights and are called Standard models.
