    Meriden was a subsidiary of Sears in the early 20th Century, prior to the First World War. They made shotguns, revolvers and I believe .22 rifles. Both for sale as Store Brand guns, and under their own name. Some of their were shotguns better quality then others. I believe Aubrey was the name of their general manger/owner? and was used on their better shotguns?

    Info posted so far is correct. Likely roughly on par with a Crescent of the same period. Maybe in some instances a bit better.

    Photos seem to possibly indicate damascus or laminated-type tubes. Since we have no proofing houses available here in the US it might be best not to attempt to fire the piece. At least don't attempt it with nitro loads.

    Value? I'm reluctant to place a value on a piece unless I'm buying or selling. Let's say the gun is more valuable than a similar Belgian piece, but will not rise to the value of an American Classic such as Parker, Fox, or Smith.

    The gun was made sometime between 1907 and 1917. Can't get any closer without a serial number. A. J. (Albert J.) Aubury was a vice president and general manager of Meridian Fire Arms and a gun inventor.
