Opinion On .22 Pistol

Buck Mark -vs- Ruger 22/45 what's your opinion/experience?

    personally the buckmark grip has a better feel, different angle with the ruger. Go to a shop or show that has both and pick each up, see which feels better to you. I don't think there is much difference to the average plinker, as per accuracy.

    Buck-Mark better grip angle if you want it to be a training aid for 1911 or other centerfire semi auto with 1911 type grip angle. . Also The Rugers have always been a PITA to take down to clean.

    I will go with the Ruger MKIII Target Bull Barrel .22LR and have handled these from the earlier models and they are outstanding, quality, reliability and accuracy.

    Sorry Perry, the 22/45 Ruger was meant to give the exact same grip angle for the .45/1911; not the Buckmark. I'm thinking that's why they call it the 22/45.[;)]
    If you can handle cleaning a High Standard or Ruger MKII, there's no reason you couldn't reassemble a Ruger 22/45 correctly (they come with a book, an' everthang!).

    I just went thru the same decision, and ended up with the Buckmark Hunter model. I think the new series III Ruger's suck. Like Perry says, the grip angles are better suited to 45 shooter's(if anybody knows a 1911 45, it is perry shooter), and quite honestly the Ruger 22/45, or 45/22, what ever it is, is a gimmick to add more models to their line.

    Never gave it a thaught until now, but if you want something a cut above, look for a nice old High Standard Victor, or a Colt Match Target. They most likely lack all the gizmology that drives todays latest and greatest, but they are a cut above in both accuracy, and workmanship.

    I really do like my Buckmark. Never had a Ruger .22

    I still think I'd rather shoot my High Standard with wheavy barrel and 3 pound trigger[:D]

    I've had just about every .22 Ruger's made, from the early standards to the 22/45, latest versions, etc. Loved em all. Never fully understood all the complaining about disassembly procedures. Maybe not the easiest in the world, but once you understand how, and why, it works, I've never had a problem with it. No experience with the Brownings, but I've never heard of any complaints either. Try both, and listen for that soft sweet voice that whispers in your ear, "I'm the one. Take me home."
    Then spend every spare penny on ammo and enjoy![:D][:D]

    I prefer the Buckmark ergonimics and trigger over the Ruger. Both guns are competent, well made though.

    Have owned both. The Ruger 22/45 is the same angle grip as the 1911 (I must respectfully disagree with Perry), less problems with different ammo, very accurate. Both need a good trigger job.

    I like the Buckmark for only one reason, easy to clean and take apart vs. the Ruger.

    Can't go far wrong with either.
