.22 cal 8 shot

I have a .22 caliber, 8 shot revolver that one of my nephews game me some years ago. I have taken it to a few gun shops and pawn shops to check on the value. No one can give me a specific answer. It's from the Madison Imports Corp but apparentely made in Germany. On the left side above the trigger housing are 3 symbols. One is a shield with the number 67 in the center. The other 2 are hard to decipher. I am trying to find out what the price of it is so I can sell it.

    Without photos it's difficult to give you any type of specific identification or valuation. I believe that Madison was a Trade Name used by a U.S. importer/distributor on revolvers made by the Herbert Schmidt Co., located in Germany. The "67" is the date of proof as required by German firearms law.

    Generally these revolvers aren't worth a great deal of money. They were originally sold very inexpensively here in the States. The Gun Control Act, firearms law, of 1968. Stopped most of their importation, because they couldn't meet the standards set up by the law.

    most foreign copies go in the $150-200 range in excellent condition, less if obvious wear/scratches.

    best way to find out what it's worth today is to put it up on the auctions and watch what it sells for, but if you don't want to sell it just put it on auction with an outragous price for minimum bid and then you may get some answers from members about what they feel it's worth.

    I have a Smith & Wesson 317-3 thats a pretty nice little revolver, it's 8 shot.
