Ithaca 1935 NID SxS 16?20?ga Two Barrel Set! Help
Bit of an amateur here so please bear with me. Clearing out an estate, we've run across this 'Field Grade' Ithaca side by side double barrel shotgun with additional barrel. Serial #'s match on every piece and according to Ithaca site this gun dates to 1935.
I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to these guns and trying to find out all I can so we can get a fair price for it. I believe it's a 16 or 20 gauge (how do you tell for sure?) and appears to be in fairly good condition; a few small rust spots, nick in checkering, a few small dings on barrel. Any info greatly appreciated, ballpark value would be great. I do have more pictures if needed. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Hello Nice looking shotgun . If a 20 ga. then a 16 ga shell will not chamber . if you measure the diameter of the front of the bore with dial indicator we can tell for sure. Be aware the frame of your gun is Case Color looks sort of like a drop of oil an the surface of water . yours looks GREAT do not try to clean only wipe down with oil. The gun looks in good condition the only thing that will hurt value is recoil pad not Standard. I would say if 20 Ga. $1000.00+ if 16Ga. $800.00 + or -
EDIT after looking at pictures again It looks like this is an ejector gun not extractors. This if true will add at least another $200.00 to value. If you put this gun up for sale here on Gunbroker please come back to this post and give the auction number. d0 -
perry shooter thanks for the reply. Is there an added premium for the matching barrel? One is 26" the other 30" and of course serial numbers match. Also, I was told the single trigger adds value as well. Do you concur? I appreciate your help very much. 0 -
Yes I gave credit for the 2 barrel set as to the single trigger this is a feature that could add value if there is away to select the barrel that would fire on first shot . To me but I personally like double triggers for hunting. You do have a nice shotgun. 0 -

get one of your buddies who had shotgun shells to verify chambering. either that or take to a gun store, they will offer you 1/2 of what it is worth, but they can tell you what it is0 -
Sunburst pads are factory correct for an Ithaca. My opinion is that Perry Shooter is low on his estimate. 0 -
Hmmm It seems like the pad may be correct but I would not argue the point. I too would concur that the value may be a bit above $1000.00 if the barrels are different gauges especially if 16 and 20 (16 & 28 would be sweet) Please let us know if it goes up on the auction side 0 -
This is a great find it is indeed a 16ga I very seriously the other barrels are a different gauge. There is a good amount of case coloring left the gun overall looks great. It is an ejector gun single trigger with a recoil pad you very seldom see any one of the three on one gun let alone all three on a single. The 4 and the 2 on the barrels indicate 4=full and 2=modified. This is a great gun I know you posted on another forum about this also and if you will look at the other threads another 16ga 2bbl set just sold for 911.00 older cocking indicator model and one I would have been more interested in than this one due to the fact of the engraving but collectores tend to gravitate more to your newer style due to the stock dimensions. If it were mine I would have no problem asking 1600.00 to 2000.00 but times are tough and you can see that one just sold for 911.00 so time and patience can get it sold for the above price if not more to the right person.
