remington nylon 66 forearm tip
does anyone know where i might find the black forearm tip for a remington nylon 66 stock?i don't seem to be able to find one anywhere on the net or local .any help is appreciated .

I bought some parts a few years ago from a guy who was selling through Shotgun News. I doubt anyone has just the tip unless it's on a broken stock. Possibly the only recourse is to buy another parts stock or complete rifle. I bought enough parts to rebuild the innards of my old Nylon when I could and put it back up to snuff. 0 -
thanks mo.my nylon has a good stock except for the missing tip.i was hoping to find someone with a stock broken or warped too bad to be used and get a tip from them .i would like to have the white spacer also since half of mine left with the tip. 0 -
Just a guess, google Numrich, they carry many older small parts.

If you cannot find your part on the GB auction side, put a "wanted" topic in the GB "Want Ads" forum.
Just click on the Gunbroker.com Message Forums link above the list of topics in this forum (above) and look down at the bottom of the list of forums to select the Want Ads forum. Post your want ad there and see what happens.
Your forearm tip may be tough to find, I think, but who knows? Also, there are other gun auctions out there (do a google search for gun auction) and even our old pal fleabay will probably allow a benign gun part like this to be posted there, so look there, too.
If you can't find your part listed anywhere, email or message some of the people that ARE selling parts for the Remington Nylon 66 and ask them for it. They may have the part and not have it listed for sale. I have, in the past, found parts by asking when I didn't see them listed.
When you search on the auction sites, use several non-specific reference phrases (wrapped AND NOT wrapped in quotation marks) to see what pops up and use Rem instead of Remington and search with and without the two words, "nylon 66" being together...such as Rem Nylon, "Remington nylon, Rem 66, Remington 66, Remington .22, etc. As an example, for instance, if you search in gun parts on the GB auction side, using the search criteria Winchester 94, Wichester 1894 or Win 94, you will get varying results for each one.

thanks ni and wolf .numrich was one of my first stops and unless i missed something ,no luck.And you're correct ,wolf,things on the internet are listed various ways and i feel like i've tried them all .i even tried the other not so friendly you mentioned to no avail .i have tried contacting folks selling other 66 parts and came up dry there ,too .however ,i feel like that is going to be my best bet ,and i am continuing to watch the net wherever i can find other parts being sold .i feel like it will be a real long shot finding one ,but this is the first gun i ever purchased ,about 43 years ago when i was in my early teens.it has served me faithfully for all those years .i recently treated it to a new teflon refinish and she looks good .just need to get the tip replaced to finish the job .keep an eye out for me and thanks again . 0 -
Then again, one more option. Get a nice piece of good tight grained hardwood and carve one and stain it the color you want. I'll be you could get a pretty good match. [:)] 0 -
that's an idea ,andy.i had already considered using some thing like epoxy putty to mold one out of .my problem there is i am disabled and unable to use my hands .another is no talent .either way,it would be a difficult piece because it is stepped down and fitted into the stock .in my untalented opinion it would be a very difficult piece to reproduce by hand in any medium .thanks for the idea ,though .thats what is good about these forums .i am able to brain storm with guys like you who come up with obvious ,simple solutions to difficult problems.thanks again 0
