I have a 20 gauge model 11 remington browning pat.

I have a remington 20 gauge model 11. On the left side of the barrel states "REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION N.Y. MADE IN USA BROWNING'S U.S. PATS. 689.283-710.094-730.870-812.326" and under that it states "20 GA. FULL" and under FULL it looks like a DX or DY. The right side of the barrel it states "R.E.P. and a Anchor marking. On the bottom of the barrel it has some strange markings? the markings are a circle on top of a cross and under that a heart marking with a Q and under that is a different cross with a 5 by the cross and then another Q. By the barrel serial numbers are a T and a U right under the T. Just wondering if its rare and what its worth and would be nice to know some history. I've read all I could about this gun but I can only find stuff about the 12 ga.

    I am guessing if it a nice day where the experts are they are out shooting. But then some wise ass may come along and say NO.

    It was made in Sept.-1929 or 30 (depending whether it's an X or a Y). That's all I got!

    The DX or DY are probably the date code Which would make it a Sep . 1929 or 30 Gun The REP I believe , is a Rem. Proof mark . Don't know a thing about the Anchor , I'm an Army Vet LOL !

    The barrel ser# will be where the lug ( where it encircles the mag tube) joins the barrel. IIRC, it will be located on the left side.

    As a side note, and I offer this warning to anyone not familiar with the M11. If your gun shows signs of a Lot of use or any signs of having been re-blued Inspect the recoil cushion in the rear of the receiver or have a knowledgeable gunsmith inspect it. The cushion is located directly behind the bolt in the rear of the receiver. It's purpose is to arrest the rearward movement of the bolt, and if it is loose, badly damaged or missing you run the risk of ruining the receiver.

    Believe it's a Remington factory marking of some kind? Reportedly It's also been found Model 51 pistols, made during the 1920's.

    M11's aren't rare at all. Even though it is the same Basic design as the Browning A5 they are not as highly valued as the A5.

    The value of your particular 11 would depend on its condition.
    Post pic's of it and some here may be able to give you a value estimate.

    Remington made hundreds of thousands of them between 1911 & the 40's. Yours is at least 80 years old. Value would depend mostly on factory originality, cosmetic condition and functionality. Unless yours is in factory new condition, not likely to have any collectors value. Used 80 year old shotguns, generally aren't high dollar items.
