installing an AR barrel to receiver ????
HI I am new to this site and in building my first AR with an 16" barrel, I was wondering when putting the barrel to the upper receiver part is there an torque setting I should use when installing the barrel nut???????????????????????[?]

Yes there are torque values to use. Check out some of the webvideos for details. A fixture for holding the uppper w/o damaging it is needed as is a barrel nut wrench. 0 -
It is generally considered 35lbs minimum. Torque to 35lbs then index to your gas tube. 0 -

Per Army TM, it is 30 ft/lbs, then torque up to align.
Having the right tools make it MUCH easier.0 -
You need a torque and barrel wrench and torque to 30-35 lbs and align the gas tube. That will change the final torque setting as they rarely line up. 0
