antique shell info question

not sure if yall can help. put this also on the reloading forum. but here will go. i have a shell that a friend gave to me that is a mystery. its complete and seems to be around 50 cal. hoping that someone can identify for me. this thing was dug up by someone. im thinking it could be some kind of naval round possibly from ww2. i have pics of it, but cant load them on gunbroker. if you are interested in helping me with this, i can send pics to you through your e-mail. my e-mail is buckkille3@aol.com. if you cant help could you please let me know where i can go to figure it out. hoping it might be worth something? thanks.

    You're going to have to give us a LOT more info than that. If you can't post pics, at least give us the dimensions, ideally using a micrometer and calipers.

    Where was this dug up? In the States or overseas?

    cant post pics on gunbroker anymore? and its costing me money! thats why i said please send me your e-mail. have no idea where it was dug. found in a old house. im in va.

    Put the pictures in a site like Photobucket or Webshots.
    They don't cost you a dime [;)]
