AFM AR-15
I have an opportunity to get into an AFM AR-15 for a great price from the factory. The manufacturer is local here in Utah. What do folks know about this manufacturer? Is it a reputable name? Should I put my dollars toward something with a better name like Rock river or Bushmaster? Any help is appreciated.

Seems like everyone and their brother in law are putting out AR-15s nowadays.
How good any gun is comes down to what parts are used, and the skill/reputation of the assembler. The bigger name guns are going to have more resale value (because of the name), but that doesn't necessarily mean they are intrinsically better guns.
What do you consider a "great" price?
What do you want to do with this gun?
If you have a problem with it, will the factory fix it for you?0 -
Here's a review I found on the lowers.

I thought $700.00 was a great price for an AR. I will probably use it a bit for target/varmint shooting. The manufacturer does have a lifetime warranty. The advertisement reads that it is for Utah residents only, and only for 100 firearms. When the 100 guns have been purchased, the deal is gone. Thanks for the input!!! 0 -

Actually, there are a number of ARs out there that can be had for $700.
How good that price is depends on the configuration, build quality and parts used. It could be an "OK" price for a standard no-frills build, or it could be an "exceptional" price for something with high end parts.
Lifetime warranty, incidentally, isn't good for YOUR lifetime, its good for the lifetime of the COMPANY.
But if you test out the gun thoroughly, you should hopefully detect most potential problems/issues relatively quickly.0
