Removing rust spots, again

    GOOGLE is your friend you can buy direct or industrial supply business like MSC even some NAPA stores. If your hardware guy never heard of Kroil he needs to go back to HARDWARE school. [}:)][V]

    You can also double click on your user name and then search on any Post you ever had on Gunbroker.

    After a few days of soaking in Kroil or other good penetrating oil, (auto trans fluid also works) scrape with the open mouth of a brass cartridge case.
    Bronze wool (Brownells) can be used for larger surfaces like actions or barrels.
    If it looks dry under the rust, repeat oiling and scraping until you get to clean metal or bluing.
    Bluing wont be harmed.
    The brass staining comes off with oil.
    If you're lucky you'll get away with it and find no pitting.
    Kroil is pretty smelly so do it outside to keep peace with the wife.
