savage 1899 ???

I have a savage model 1899 .250-3000 Rifle,,,ser # 210971 original blue is 70% ,,gun is as described in the blue book,, takedown,,pistol grip checkered wood, right down to the checkered trigger.
My question is why is there no " savage 1899 model" stamped on top of the rec like every other 1899 I have seen ? ? all other stampings are correct.

  The original 1899 TD rifle didn't have a frame marking, only the marking on the left side of the barrel near the rear that gave the model number and the caliber, even though it was only chambered in 250-3000. Frame markings didn't start till the first model following the 1899 250-3000, in which they dropped the "18" from the 1899 and called it the 99-B.

  I didn't know how to edit my last post so hopefully this will clarify. I don't think you'll find the stamping "Savage 1899 Model" on the frame of any Savage. When they got to stamping the frames, they dropped the "18" and frame stampings will all be "Savage 99", and that started on the model following yours.
  To digress a bit, I've got a twin to your rifle that I bought with the rifling near the muzzle completely shot out. I bought it right, and had the original barrel rebored to .270 and the chamber opened for the .300 Savage case necked down. It shoots beautifully, even though it's not all original, and has great ballistics.
