Boat Gun
Have a favorite gun to keep on the vessel?
I like a short barrel 12 Ga for certain off shore trips.
Whats your choice?

I have an old Ruger Blackhawk in 30 carbine I carry hunting and fishing. Looks like crap, no blueing and the grips have been glued a couple of times, but still goes bang and hits whatever I aim at. 0 -
Good shark guns are stainless .44 and 12 ga. pumps...
Some halibut fishers like equalizers for those barn door versions...
Never saw a but a good bat couldn't handle. However wish that were not true...

Can't carry one I am afraid that I might take up target practice on Jet Skies. The joke would be on because I would never be able to hit one. However I have been known to chase one down with my bass boat thought. 0 -

Don't think you can beat a Charter Arms AR-7 Survival Rifle. It's a .22lr, 8rd, semi-auto. No special care needed to protect it from dropping, accidental discharge, water/mud, prying eyes from would-be theives, takes up no room than a carton of smokes. Quick & easy to assemble! Damn accurate too! Pull the weather-tight, rubber recoil pad off and the barrel, firing mechanism/trigger group & mag all stuff inside the thick, undestructable, plastic stock. When it's not in my boat, it's under the seat of my truck. Got stopped by a local cop once (speeding) he noticed the stock laying on the seat. "Got the rest of that gun in there", Barney said. "Nope, getting all the metal parts re-blued at the gun shop", which ended the conversation. Don't know if it would've constituted as 'transporting a loaded weapon' or not since the mag is always full. Anyway, it would be hard to beat as a "boat gun" and they only bring $75-125 on GB auction site. 0
