I just purchased a .357 with a 4 inch br. If I buy a 2 inch will it interchange? Are all dan wessons made to interchange bar.? As always thanks for your replies.

Most likely it is a Model 15V, or 15VH. They made a model before the 15, but I don't believe it had interchangeable barrels.

Model 15 is the most common Dan Wesson with interchangeable barrels, and I think this would be considered a medium frame.

Does your gun look something like this?

Model 14 is similar (though much less common) but with fixed sights.

This. is a 15-2 Vent Heavy.

They also had a Mod 15 refered to as "pork chop". They have an extention of the barrel shroud that extends down the front of the frame which retains the cylinder crane.

    Here is an example.

Dan Wesson did not mark their guns as to model number. Many of the newer Dan Wesson's did not have interchangeable barrels but were fixed barrels only. All stainless steel guns began with a 7, 715, 722, 741, 744 and so on.
