Do yourself a favor, and forget the Armour Alloy II, and stick soley with the stainless. The AAII stuff was only made for a year or two, before T/C came out with their stainless. It is pretty few anfar between, and not interchangable with the blue or stainless barrels or frames. As a matter of fact, i might even suggest you skip the Contender all together, and grab yourself an Encore.

I think Contenders are only blue or "Arm Alloy" which are not interchangeable. I've read somewhere that the AA barrels can be modified to fit blue frames, don't know about the other direction.

T/C Contender series don't come in stainless to my knowledge.

Ditto on the Encore recommendation. The AA T/C Contenders are not to this point any more desirable or collectable than the blue. Prices are usually the same.

The T/C Encores are interchangeable between the blue and stainless.

Thanks for your immediate responses. Now I know that I did the right thing in declining the offer to buy. I was wondering about the collector type value and also wanted to make sure that both frame and barrel were the same. Don't matter, I am passing and will look closer at the encore.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob,

Even if it were a collector, it would be a very small niche, and not a high dollar value item. There are many more options available in the Encore.
