glock question

i have never owned a glock but am thinking of buying one in 9mm.What is the difference in the Generations things.I see them advertised using the different generations.

    okay, so i havent fired my new glock yet, but upon working rounds in and out of the action, i notice burrs being created on the edges of the casings, and a corresponding scratch down to the bottom of each case. an intersting note is that the burrs are at a slight angle, perhaps 10 or 15 degrees. whats causing these burrs? is this something i should get looked at? or am i just being "@nal retentive"? thank you in advance for your comments and advice.

    The Gen 4 has (changes from Gen 3):

    * dual recoil spring (manages recoil better, increases reliability))
    * interchangeable back straps (custom fit your hand)
    * "RTF3" texture (rough texture frame)
    * magazine release that can be switched to use left or right handed


    The Gen 3 has (changes from Gen 2):

    * accessory rail (for mounting lights or lasers etc...)
    * finger grooves and thumb rests on frame
    * loaded chamber indicator (on extractor)
    * olive drab frames (optional)


    The Gen 2 has (changes from Gen 1):

    * checkering on the front strap
    * serrations on the back strap
    * a steel plate with a stamped serial number was embedded into the dust cover

    I bought a Glock mod. 22 in .40 cal. make sure it fits your hand.

    Be aware that it only has a trigger safety, and can you accept the

    small slide release. The slide part is steel, the bottom frame is

    some plastic alloy. Do you like that or an all steel gun?

    I'm old school and i prefer the all steel guns with exposed hammers.

    An extended slide release can be purchased and installed easily for less than $25 at most gunshows. Along with a connector to change the trigger pull if you are so inclined.

    It's the same with all semi-auto,s.
    The part in front of the trigger guard.

    Trigger Safety !
    Firing Pin Safety !
    Drop Safety !
