I recently purchased a 460 XVR with the 10.5 inch barrel. I have heard these guns are hard on scopes, I am considering a Burris because of the warranty and good things i have heard. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

I put a 2-7 power silver Burris on my 460 with the standard barrel the 7 and like 3/8ths one. After about three boxes the crosshairs came loose and turned in the scope but sent it in and was fixed and have probably put around 10 boxes though since and no scope problems but did break the screws on warne base but they sent me replacements quickly.

Out of all the big names in DECENT scopes, Burris IS KING of the handgun scopes. Especially for the hardest recoiling ones. You will not do better than a Burris.

I won't argue against the Burris for the 460 but for whatever its worth a friend and I both have 460s with Leupold's 2.5-8 VX III and have had good results. Still can't stop flinching when I shoot it but that is not the scope's fault.

I put a Burris X2 on my .454 Casull Ruger Super Redhawk. I've put plenty of Corbon and Buffalo Bore through it and never had a single issue. The pistol is more accurate than I am. 2"-3" groups at a 100 yards is the norm.

The two scopes you find most often in the world of handgun silhouette are the Burris 3-12X32 or the Leupold VX-III 2.5-8X32 Both of these handle the recoil that is generated by handguns chambered in rifle cartridges with little problems and both manufactures offer great lifetime warranties. One comment from the shooters is that the Leupold's seem to be more repeatable in the area of tracking, but many shooters prefer the extra magnification of the Burris.

Thanks for the input, since you all have experience with the cartridge what is the best factory load you have found. I am looking for a good load to hunt deer and elk. Thanks.
