What is the source for 2.5" shot shells for the older 2.5" chambered shotguns.

  Ballistic Products carries Gamebore and RST.

  If you reload from ballistic products you can get hulls 2 1/2" or cut down hulls to 2 1/2", and you can also get a roll crimp tool. Roll crimping will allow you get 1oz or 1 1/8 oz and use a power piston wad.

  I didn't think to ask this earlier.
  What gun do you intend to use them in?
  Cartridges like the Gamebore would wreck my Husqvarna Mod 20, but work just fine in my short chambered Browning A5.
  You need to look at your pressure needs or restrictions.
  
  If you want to reload for an older low pressure, short chambered gun Ballistic Products also has low pressure load recipes as well as all the components you might need.

  yes good advice, if it shoots 2 1/2" it is old. Not only the issue with forceing cone pressure of 2 3/4" in 2 1/2" but most likely it was proofed for loads less that 10k pressure. Author did not tell us the intended use, maybe even a twist barrel, 2 1/2" ?
