Solvent/Cleaning Chemical Expert Wanted

Is there an inexpensive solvent/chemical solution that remove all camo paint without damaging any of the blueing or any of the original black synthetic stock? This looks like a fun 'salvage' project for me.

  try a small test area with wd40 or similar lubricant. Sometimes it will soften paint and glue.

  Soaking in lacquer thinner will remove the paint from the metal without damaging the blue.
  
  Ask the seller what type paint he used on it. If common spray paint was used Hoppe's #9 will work on the stock set.

  Try non-clorinated brake cleaner... It will not hurt the blueing and prob take off All the paint-- put ballistol or a little Ed- 40 on the wood when done. I don't think wd-40 will have any effect on the paint--- it takes road tar off paint on auto paint without harming the paint cause the tar is a petroleum product... Just the petroleum stuff in Arrmor All breaks down the dash in auto's and tires( cause of petroleum)

  Alot of work went into that paint job. Why mess with it?[:D]

  That is actually a pretty descent paint job for being done on the amatuer level. It would work well in the duck or goose bline, and in the turkey woods.
