H&K USP's
I have a H&K USP, .40/Expert, DOM: 1995. Bought this gun in 1996, put a box of 50 FMJ through it, decided it was too big for my hand so I cleaned and oiled it, put it in the case and havn't touched it since. I am trying to find out how much this gun is worth before I head into the gun shop to talk about trading for a new Springfield XD or XD/M in .40S&W. Is there a web site I can go to to get gun values? Can anyone refer me to someone who knows H&K?
Would very much appreciate your help
Thank you,
John

Hello John the best way is to sign up on the auction side of GUNBROKER then do a smart search on closed auctions of the model HK you have look at only those that sold not the ones with no bids or reserve not met. 0 -
Best thing to do would be to check the big on-line gun auctions. H & K firearms are very popular, many are listed for sale on the auctions. Be sure to just check the actual selling prices, to get a ball park value for yours.
Trading guns to a gun store is a waste of time IMHO. Likely they will only allow you 50? on the dollar for what they expect to sell it for. Likely a H & K per your description would be worth much more from a private collector, specially if it's a older out of print model.0 -
Thank you for the advice on trading with a retail store. I hadn't considered that he needs to make a profit to.
Appreciate your responses.
Thank you

Bought myself an USP expert last year via GB. They usually go from about 900 to 1,100 depending if they have a jet funnel (16 rounder) and the caliber. I've noticed that the .45's usually bring more money. Keep in mind the 16 round factory .40 cal magazines go between 65 & 100 a pop so factor that if you have factory mags to sell with the gun. 0 -
There are two one forty one forty five for sale on the auction buy now for under a grand. I almost spelled that Garand, you know were my head is. The Expert I have came with a padded carring case, you got one?

Yeppers, got the padded h&k case, all factory doc & stuff and 2 - 16 round mags for under a K. 0 -
I didn't think the Expert was even made in 1995.[?] You sure it's an Expert and not another model? If it is an Expert with a KF code date, it might be a rarity and worth some extra cash. 0 -
I believe the only H&K with the locating bushing on the barrel ("O" ring) in 1995 was the Mark 23. When i went to H&K armorer school in '97 there was no mention of them in the armorer's manual and the Germans DO pay attention to details like that. Could your gun be later or a proto/beta that got liberated somehow? Check the GB auction side for real-world selling prices. 0
