1878 german 11mm
I talked to a guy about a 1878 german 11mm rifle today. He said it was used in wwi and wwii and that it has a few stamps on it including a swastika. I want to know if this could be real I never heard of this used in wwii. If you have any info please let me know I have not seen it yet and I want to know what to look for and a value so I don't over pay. Thank

W W I yes, by the German colonial troops in Africa. W W II no, long obsolete. None should have swastika marking.
There had been some sold to China in the late 19th Century. Some Chinese rifles were marked with the swastika, perhaps it's one of these he's referring to?0 -
I have seen somewhere photos of WWII German Volksturm soldiers, in the desperate last days of the War, carrying long-obsoleted Mauser 71/84 rifles in Kaliber 11.15x60R. I don't know whether or not a Waffenamt was applied to these rifles, which might have been brought out of some old inventory. I think they would have used anything they could find to shoot. 0
