A cylinder is legal. Only a receiver would require an FFL. Contact GB support from the auction side if you're having problems.

When I post an ad on GB some go through with no problems. THEN some of them will NOT go through at all? A old cylinder should not be a problem or do you have rules on what is right and what is wrong to sell? Several BATF agents told me you have to be a FFL dealer or licenced Gunsmith to LEGAL sell Parts on the WEB????
An ad? You mean an auction?

No BATF agent should be closing your auctions. If they are, contact admin.

You can legally sell any item you are allowed to own on gunbroker, as long as the receiver has an FFL or uses a transfer if needed. For part (not including receivers or frames), no FFL is needed.

Note that various localities may have more draconian rules, and you are at the mercy of the rules for shipping for various agencies.

All I can think those BATF agents are thinking of would be the aforementioned recievers?! Don't need an FFL of ANY type to sell a cylinder latch, a cylinder, stocks, various screws (also, these screws can be used for things other than a firearm!), barrels, springs...don't think those guys know their arses from a hole in the ground unless you indeed misunderstood (or they were typically vague)what "parts" they were referring to.

Unless, there are some type of state or local laws, you can sell ANYTHING that is legal to own, to any one who can legally own it! That includes parts, complete guns, and that includes NFA weapons. You don't have to posses an FFL to do it either. You might have to process the actual weapon(read as complete firearm) through the proper class dealer, but you can still sell it, and advertise it on the auction side.

Those BATFE agents who are telling you that, are full of themselves. They need to go and read their own rules. If it were me, I would not let their ill advice stop me, and if they tried to, then when my attorney got done with them, they would be looking for another job.

    partsman,

You need to open a Help/Support issue with Admin on the Auction side. They will guide you through the explanation.

    Best.
