Savage Arms Westpoint Model 25 .22 rifle

I recently traded for a Savage Arms Westpoint Model 25 .22 cal. single shot rifle. I have been unable to find any information at all on this rifle. I really would like to have a manuel but the customer service department at Savage Arms tells me that they no longer have this manuel available. I traded for this rifle simply because I liked the looks of it and thought that it would make a very good learning rifle for my 10 year old grandson. The rifle is a rolling block, 20" octagonal barrel, case hardened receiver, single shot. It looks very much like the Model 30G on the Savage Arms website. Any information that anyone can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

  It might be the same rifle as sold by Ithaca back in the 60's & 70's. As Ithaca was mostly a manufacturer of shotguns, I wouldn't be at all surprised if their single shot lever action Model 49 was made for them by Savage, who sold it themselves under the West Point Model 25 name.
  
  The Ithaca Model 49's were made and sold in quantity. You shouldn't have any problem picking up a repro owners manual off of fleabay.

  I believe it's a version of the Stevens Walnut Hill Target rifles. But a 20" barrel would be too short.
