H&R 410 Barrels????

Will model 48 or 58, Etc. barrels FIT (drop-in or slight modifaction) into a OLDER model 1900 H&R 410 frame?????

    It's not likely, but I've not tried it. The later models 48, 58, etc were equipped with a "self adjusting" latching system - the earlier ones were not so equipped. In fact, I do know that fitting a barrel from one example of the Model 1908/08 (successor to the Model 1900 and predecessor of the STANDARD and model 48s, takes quite a bit of hand work. One other thing to keep in mind...Model 58 and later have the side latch release for the barrel - earlier ones were equipped with the top tang "beaver tail" latch release.

    Another thought - barrels for the older model H&R sb shotguns do show up on the auction side on a fairly regular basis. Search both: H&R and Harrington & Richardson and you will eventually run across several. Good luck in your hunt.
