Value of WWII Lugar

My Dad was in the infantry and brought a lugar home from WWII. Its clean and hasn't been fired since. I want to know how much it is worth.I see one similar listed on Gun Broker. The current bid is $800 and the reserve has not been met. There is a symbol of a crown and "ERFURT" stamped on the top side of the breech. At the base of the barrel there is 1918. "5424" is stamped on one side, on the other there is a small eagle stamp, three other old style letters, and even smaller RC. There is another "5424" under the barrel and 5 "24's" on different locations. Can someone give me a good idea what its worth?

    think of your pistol the same way as antique Automobile or Furniture. Condition is everything. Both in original FINISH & parts. Does it have original WW I holster and do the serial numbers on the Magazines match those of the pistol[?] Without detailed up close in focus pictures we can only give you a WAG of somewhere between $100.00- $10,000.00

    While your father 'aquired' the pistol during ww2 it was made for ww1 (at Erfurt in 1918), condition and matching numbers will determine value.

    From what you have described the pistol has matching numbered parts. I would not be too concerned about whether the magazine numbers matched as I once owned 25 Lugers all with matching parts and original finish and not a one had a matching numbered magazine. If there is not rust and 90% or better of the finish remainiing I would say it should bring more than $1,000.00. As others have said, good photos are essential to come up with a meaningful estimate of value. Most of those I see for sale have mixed numbers and of little interest to collectors.
