Navy Trophy - Rem. M720
Can someone comment on the estimated value of a Remington M720 Navy Trophy rifle? I own one that does not have the original box or paperwork, but is engraved with the name of marine who was awarded the rifle at a Fleet match in Hawaii.
I know some of the history of the rifle and that there are less than 2,400 in existence. Any information would be appreciated.

it should be a 720a if i remember correctly.
last one a saw on auction went around 4 grand.0 -

What year was the Remington won at the Hawaii match, and do you know who won it? If it was between 1960 and 1971, there's a "fairly" good chance that I might know the Marine who won it since I was stationed in Hawaii, and in California, and involved with three different Marine rifle teams at the time, two of them in Hawaii.
Added: I do wish I could help you, but I do not recall the name. After 1971, I got away from competing. I wish you the best of good luck on learning more about your rifle and its value.
One online auction site had one sell for just over $1500.00 almost ten years ago. Having said that, I'm a big fan of GunBroker auctions and should you decide to put yours up for auction, GB is the place to do it IMHO. Good luck to you on whatever you decide to do.0 -
