remington 03-A3

I have an ancient Remington 03-A3 that has been passed down in my family from at least my great grandfather. It's in good shape with some scratches and dents in the stock and some scratches in the metal. It has what appears to be the original sling as well as the original cleaning kit in the butt. Does anyone have any idea what this thing is worth? The area forward of the bolt is stamped "U.S. Remington Model 03-A3 3968356" There is a stamp on the stock "C-SAA". The barrel is stamped "RA (with a fire bomb) 6-43". There is also a "P" in a circle and a "P" in a square stamped on the stock.

    I acquired a Remington 03-A3 and can't get the bolt handle to lock down once the bolt is closed. It seems to be lined up but is hitting something. I need an expert. Also how do you remove the bolt out of one of these? Thanks

    Several manufacturers...subcontractors...refurbishments...inspectors cartouches...lend lease/friendly nations returned guns...God only knows WHAT you have there and "excellent" condition means a lot of things to different people. Look at the 10th post down from the top and find instructions for posting on this site; we need pictures to determine anything.

    Excellent shape..Well, here is our version of excellent shape:

    Bore Okay? Nice 'n shiney? Muzzle crown un-damaged? Cartouches on the stock sharp 'n clear? Parkerizing (military finish) on the metal not worn away, except, maybe in the high spots? Wood has not been sanded/refinished in the past? All original military wood still there (not sawed into a 'civilian' type rifle?)

    If photos are not possible (not of the gun-we know what an '03-A3 looks like-but closeups of each area of the gun), then use the paragraph above as a checklist.

    If above conditions are met, you will realize about $300-$375 at a gunstore, or about $750-$900 right here selling it at Gunbroker auction.

    If insurance estimate is needed, insure it for a $950 replacement value. I think the valuable items insurance premium takes a jump if over $1,000 claimed value. Best, Joe

    OK Jodie, here's an approximate answer, for a shooter( that hasn't been sporterised) ut would be $400 to $800 the high range for really nice. I see them at gun shows for $500 +
