Seecamp 32 ACP questtion

Can anyone out there cycle a reloaded 32 ACP with the Speer 60 gr HP GD loaded with an overall length of .940 through their Seecamp...Speer says you can I can't; is it just my Seecamp or is Speer all wet??

    With a Sharpie black marker coat the Speer bullet with ink. If the extracted bullet shows land and groove markings in the inked portion of the bullet. Either Speer is wrong, or the chamber dimensions of your Seecamp is deficient buy not being deep enough.

    The seecamp is the worst offender when it comes to the oal of .32acp. Many years ago a lot of under cover officers I knew were carrying them. Had to go to a max of .910 and usually
    .900 oal. I don't know if seecamp ever made modifications, but the early ones just did NOT like "long" ammo.

    Yes but it doesn't address OAL for reloads.

    OAL is set by the gun in your hand. You will have to determine what is right. If a book says .960" and your gun will not feed that size, the information is useless. I have some
    Aquila fmj made in the late 80's that measure .970" and I know they did NOT work in the Seecamps of those years. Try measuring some old Winchester sliver tips if you can find them, remember the shape of the bullet affects fit and function also. But I believe you are going to find you have to load shorter than any published lengths. I can't find my load data from the late 80's when I was fooling around with the .32, But I know it was short oal for the seecamps.

    Larry Seecamp himself says the Ficcohie ammo at .940 is TOO long.
