870 Special Purpose BBl Swap

Will a 12 ga 870 Express Magnum barrel fit the Special Purpose magnum receiver? I think they will, but need to make sure before bidding. Thanks!!

  YES. The only 870 12 gauge barrel that is non-interchangeable is the 'Special Field' barrel, whereby the barrel ring is closer to the chamber end of the barrel, as the magazine tube was shortened such that the magazine would only hold three shells, to make for a shorter, AND LIGHTER, quicker pointing shotgun. Same non-interchangeability applies to the 870 20 gauge Special Field barrel.
  A lot of folks confuse special purpose shotguns and special field shotguns. Blame the Remington marketing folks!
