.35 Remington

I received a small box of mixed ammo today. The guy was cleaning up his gun cabinet and doesn't have these firearms any more.

In the box was 23rd of .35 Remington.

The box is mixed .35 Rem and .35 Rem Super (Remington Mfg.), are these rounds the same or slightly different?
I don't have the gun and I am basically unfamiliar w/the caliber.

Not sure what I'll do w/the ammo , yet.

    Looking to buy a new rifle. Was told the .35 Remington would make a good all around gun(Marlin 336). Would this gun be good for deer, elk, bear? Also, is the ammunition easy to get?

    Remington has a line of ammo called the Super-X. Perhaps they put "super" on the brass???

    I found this reference to 35 rem super where the loads are all above SAAMI specs...

    No doubt what you've got is just basic 200-gr. Winchester-Western factory loads.

    In the old days the W-W company used two brand names: Super-X and Superspeed, which were stamped on the cartridge head as well as on the box. Then to simplify production the headstamp was changed to WW Super for both.

    The "Super" is just to get customers' attention. It doesn't mean the cartridges are loaded to higher than normal pressure and velocity.
