Enfield actions?

Mossbergboogie
The was a company that was producing rifles off the enfield design in the present. Does anyone remember what the name was? I think they were Australian based.

    Art Alphin uses the enfield on some of his big-bores, (A-Square). Do a Google search for A-Square, tyrannosarous, Hanibal, Pegasaus. There are several of his guns on GB at this time. HAWKSHAW

    I'd buy one of these Enfields that takes standard AK magazines in a second if they were available in the USA. . .sadly, they're not.

    I think guns like this are more desirable in Australia, in part because of that countries history with the Enfield design, plus of course because Australian civilians aren't allowed to have semi-auto guns. So there is a natural attraction to something like a high-cap bolt gun.

    If you like the idea of high-cap repeaters, the Remington model 7615 is a pump action .223 that runs off standard ar-15 mags.

    No I like the idea of a short throw bolt with volley sights and a magazine that can be loaded using strippers.

    Might have to just buy an 1950's No 4.

    Are you referring to the Gibbs guns that were converted to 45-70? I believe they called those the explorer rifle?

    Hey Doug...you are of course correct, the Gibbs 45-70 Enfield was indeed called the Summit Frontier

    You are also correct on the Ishapore thing, as the newer steels in the recievers allowed for the higher operating pressures of the 308 round. I almost bought a Quest myself but Waters placed the strength of the action as somewhere between type 2 and 3 with a ca eat that ventures into the level 3 area were purely at the users risk as consistancy was not there with the actions he tested. I eventually went with a traswhed/sporterized Siamewse mauser for my level 4 boomer...more fun than the law allowed til I sold it! One of the many "duh" moments in my gunning carrer!!!

    Summit and Frontier - I have one and it sure is neat, not sure which model I have. It's made on an old No1 MkIII action. The Explorer might have been a 308 conversion - cut down Ishapores I suppose.
