Why would a gun not show up on an advanced search? I actually found it on another site, copied the GB item Number, returned to GB then found it. AFTER I HAD purchased a similar fire arm at 2x's the price. what gives?

No,35 WhelenClassic, nobody owes me anything. I can type in the exact description and nothing pops up. Enter the GB Item number and it will come up, I was not snoozing, I did a 2 week search. If you have no answers or can offer help I'm not intrested in your comment or to be bitc* slapped, Go piss on some else, I am trying to learn.

Your search may have been too specific. Try to be more general in your search topics. Instead of searching "Remington 700 CDL 30-06", just search Remington 700. This may help. 0 -

Go back, and check your locked topic on the general discussion board. How did that turn out? The same applies here. Auction issues are not handled on the message boards. Go to the auction side, and relay your problem to customer support. Here's the link.

Well, to actually answer your question, it is one of the quirks or entry criteria necessities. It appears you were searching using the search string "ASTRA Constable 380", but the auction you were looking for, auction 214661616, needs the search sting "ASTRA Constable .380". Notice the "." before the "380"; without that "." you won't find that auction. The auction's title is "ASTRA Constable Interarms .380 ACP No Res"; again, notice the ".". Using "ASTRA Constable .380" as my search criteria I found the auction you were looking for. 0 -
I'm with MrGuns22 in this matter. Strikes me if you had just used the search term Astra Constable you wouldn't have had this problem. It only take a couple of minutes to go over the auctions that are pulled up, to check for what you were looking for. 0 -
Can't use a search engine, can't read and comprehend plain English, if I knew his username on the auction side I would block him from bidding on my auctions..... 0 -
Not to make a big deal out of this, but I don't see any reason to respond to a legitimate question (and this is one) the way this inquiry was responded to. I believe most will agree with my perspective that every legitimate question deserves a response that is both civil and polite. That, in fact, was what happened when the right man read the topic.
I leave other comments unsaid for obvious reasons, but let me just say that I have always thought that this is a forum, not a dogfight where, if you don't like the way the guy lifted his leg on the hydrant, you take a bite out of him.0 -
Wolf, this is a direct C&P of doorco's thread on the GD forum, and I quote:

As to the portion I highlighted; why does he feel that GB is responsible for the fact that he paid double what he wanted to pay? No one forced you to bid and pay more than you wanted, doorco.
The first Constable .380 you found, the one you wanted; I just looked up the auction number. It's listed as no reserve, $199 start. It has two days left, and no bids. I can find no mention of any Constable that was sold recently for double that.
Believe it or not, I'm trying to help you out here, doorco. You're not giving us much to work with, and I apologize if I'm coming across in a bad way to you.0 -
The OP got the auction number from E-guns. He used it, and sucessfully got to the item he wanted, ready to bid on. Right there on the page. The snooze/lose scenario seems appropriate in this case.
GB auctions has a 'save this item to favorites' feature. Reminder to self: always use it.
