could anyone tell me where I can get info on the model of my LLama 45 cal, and the date it was manufactured? s/n 862410. Thanks, Ed

    I am not a gun man and do not claim to be so I need some help with a few guns my Grandfather left me when he died years ago.
    I have a Titan .22 short made in italy that is nickel (chrome) plated semi-auto with clip in handle.
    I have a Basque .32 Made in Spain semi-auto with clip in handle top is black and bottom is nickel (chrome) plated with plastic handles.
    I have a 12 gauge shotgun single barrell with thumb lever to break barrell name on it is H.S.B.& CO. RUSO CHICAGO with a rooster (bird) surrounding the name RUSO.
    I have another 12 gauge single barrell shotgun with a thumb lever that the name EASTERN ARMS COMPANY 101.1 with a 2 3/4 inch chamber.
    Any info with any of these guns would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Walt

    Pretty vague, huh?

    We need a lot more info. Pics are best- there is a sticky on the main Ask the Experts page on how to do this if you don't know.

    Failing that, at least give type of gun (cartridge, percussion muzzleloader, etc), action type (swing out, break open, etc) finish, condition, dimensions, etc.

    its actually a freinds gun. its a 6 shot revolver i guess u would call it a muzzle loader, blackpowder if u will i beleive he said a 6in barell blued steel and brass single action. it dosent swing out or breack down it loads at the front of cyllinder right side has push rod that unlocks at front of barrel to pack cyllinder. dose any of this help will try get picture posted alittle later thank you for your responce and any help u may give. sincerly, new guy

    It's a Navy Arms replica. Worth about $100 in good condition. Maybe a little more if the original box is with it. Not regulated by "gun control" but still considered a deadly weapon. It uses #11 caps (some say use #10 if you can find them - stays on the nipples better). Charge about 30 gr of FFFG black powder (only). Use a 451 round ball so that a seal is produced when the ball is rammed home into the cylinder (shears off a ring of lead). When getting aquainted with a black powder revolver only load one chamber at a time. Do not dry fire on a bare nipple. BP revolver course 101 is now complete.

    If you look on the auction side and do a search on colt black powder revolvers then compare those pistols you will find some that looks like your friends revolver. This will most likely narrow it down to TYPE / MODEL. Then Be aware that since the late 1960's to current there have been a large number of companies importing reproduction pistols of the old black powder colts, From Italy and other countries. Most sold new in the $100.00- $200.00 range and a used one in good condition can be had from $75.00 - $150.00 Navy arms was one of these importers.

    where might i find the brass peice that goes around the grip (handle) for the said pistol i mentioned previeslly.

    The brass piece is not decoration. It's the grip frame.
    Try Dixie gun works or Gun Parts Corp.
    Either one might have a replacement.
    Why is it missing?

    if its missing the grip frame, its certainly not worth messing with.
