    Good shot!

    What a whopper deer!
It would take 3 of our Georgia deer to weigh that much.

Corn-fed, I bet he will taste good.

Didn't have as good of luck on the does this year. only got 2 of them. After I shot this buck, I had quite a few other big bucks well within range. But no tags for them. Hopefully they will be there, and bigger next year.

With his 2 broken tines, he also had a broken rib. If you look at his rib cage, by my neighbors armpit, (the guy in orange), you can see a baseball sized lump. Was a big ball of hard fatlike stuff that was full of splintered rib. He also had a big ball of infection in his right rear leg. Assuming one of two things. He either got hit by a vehicle, or got his butt whooped by a bigger buck.
The second rut was on when I shot him. Bucks were working does and doe fawns pretty hard at the time.

That is a dang nice mount, great job! By the looks of those tines he was a scrapper. Hopefully his genes were passed along to a new generation of bucks like that before he became steaks and sausage.
