W. Richards Shotgun?

I have a 10 guage side x side under lever shotgun with "W. Richards" engraved in the metal on each side of the stock just above the trigger. In the same area is an engraved mark that looks like a tree. Also engraved on the upper rib between the barrels is "Laminated Steel". What markings will an authentic W. Richards shotgun have? Thank you.

    Take off the forearm and check underneath the barrels near the receiver. If you see crossed halberds (spear and battle axe) it's British. If you see "ELG" in an oval, it's a Belgian knockoff. I suspect the latter.

    In actual Westley Richards shotgun (from the famous London gun maker) will always say the name in full and will never be abbreviated. You most likely have a common Belgian made copy.

    There were three makers who marked their guns in this manner. One was a Belgian maker of "Trade Brand Name" shotguns was Henri Pieper, and the other two were English one located in Preston England in the 1880a and the other located in Liverpool, England also in the 1880s.

    I also have a "W. Richards" underlever but in 12 ga..
    Sad to say it (at least mine in it's deplorable condition) is a nice wallhanger.
