Kimber of Oregon 84 in .243

Looking for opinions from folks who have experience with The Kimber of Oregon model 84 in .243 Caliber...

If it's factory original, it's a big buck collectors item now, as K O A as been out of business for years. If you have a chance to pick one up at a descent price that's factory original and in very good to excellent cosmetic condition go for it. I never owned one, but way back when they were in production they had a excellent rep for quality of workmanship and accuracy.

Can't help with the 84 specifically, but I do have a couple of 82's and offer the following observations as a longtime K of O fan.
All the Oregon Kimbers I've seen over the years have had exceptional metal work; fit, finish, etc. Stocks have run from beautiful (most often) to ordinary (occasionally) and even a couple that were unforgivably ugly. (poor checkering and hardware inletting on high end models)
The other thing is to remember that Kimber of Oregon and Kimber of American have nothing to do with each other. Kimber of America won't even give you the time of day. No history, no advice, etc. and certainly no parts or service support. The most I got out of them the one time I called was a sermon on how crappy (not my experience) the 82 triggers were and how superior their own Kimber .22 rifle is.
