Chinese Norinco SKS

I bought this gun for $50.00 which is a good buy. But my question is it has the standard 10 closed clip non detachable. I wanted to know if I could get an extended clip for it and would it work.My second question is it possible to make it a fully and how.

can anybody help?

    I have a SKS I'd like to find out the value of, looking to sale it. As you see in the title it's a Chinese SKS. I inherited this one from my father. He had never shot it, I remember when he bought it, it still had the cosmoline (I think they call it) on it. I have shot it,twice I think... less then 100 rounds. Then of course cleaned. It has one little gig, around the bolt that holds the stock on. Other then that, it's pretty much like new. Any guesses?? Thanks.

    I got $350 here on Gun Broker quite awhile ago ..

    +1 to MFI - here in Eastern PA - Chinese SKSs were holding steady at $250 to $275 for about 10 years. Over the past two years the retail selling prices have been moving upward - now approach $325 to $350 depending upon condition. ALL SKSs and AKs have jumped within the past two years. I've been looking to possibly sell my Type 56 which I bought about 11 years ago for $175, so I've been keeping track at the shops and gun shows. Your area may differ - market place demand and money availability are strong factors with these types of guns.

    I sold a new Norinco SKS 6 months ago locally for $300 and a 56S 7.62x39 sidefolder for $1500 NIB with all the accessories sealed in plastic.
    I also have a 56 .223 underfolder NIB that will also go but I believe
    prices have come down some.

    Thanks for all the info guys! I do have other goodies to sale with this.. I have put the rubber butt pad on the gun, that metal butt has a pretty good kick! I also have the piece for a scope mount, one 30 round (I think) clip.... It says SKS on the clip, never did figure out how to get it to fit... And about 120 rounds of Winchester ammo, in the boxes, and maybe 60 rounds Russian ammo....So do you think for all this $350 would be a good price?
    Second,figuring out how to post it, do most people require FFL and go thru a local "broker"??? I'll take some pics and do another post.

    Your accessories add little or no value. 30 rd mags rarely work, scope mounts are cheap, & ammo is not mailable.

    If you plan to advertise it on GB, you need to read the FOR SELLERS tutorial. Be sure to understand who you can ship it to, & how to ship.

    If you plan to sell any item by auction, you don't need to "price it"; pick the lowest amount you are willing to take, & the market will determine the actual price.

    I'd say sell locally, the GunBroker side is lousy with sks's right now. Also you have to figure in shipping, FFL fee, GunBroker fee. The main thing with these rifles is DOM, matching ser. numbers, condition, and how close to original they are. Face-to-face-cash is always better than a check in the mail.[:D]

    The buyer pays for it all, except the final value. Ship USPS priority mail, and you don't need an FFL on the dealer's end. If the buyer can't find a dealer to accept from an individual, then he pays for the FFL on the seller's end too

    Just make sure you state all of that in your auction description.
