REVELLATION 99
Who made the Revellation 99 revolver, 9 shot 22? It looks like a Hi-standard. True? Is it trash?

Yes sir, it's a High Standard Sentinel. I wouldn't call it a great pistol. But I wouldn't call it trash either. Probably one of the 1st American made revolvers to use frames made of alloys. But they pretty good shooters and very popular.
High Standard made store brand models for both Sears and Western Auto. Revellation was the Western Auto brand. Quality is the same as High Standard branded guns.
The High Standard Sentinel is beginning to acquire some collector interest. And while store brand models traditionally don't acquire the same interest an value as the MFG model. These seem (IMO) to have escaped that to some degree. I think a lot might have to do w/the Obama gun buying frenzy of 2008/2009. .22 pistols were hot among buyers purchasing their 1st handgun. And H/S Sentinels were very popular and sought after on the used market. Prior to Obama a serviceable but well used Sentinel was a $125. to $150. gun*. With better condition examples bringing more. And the store brand models bringing slightly less. Then used Sentinel's virtually disappeared. And we started seeing the store brand models coming out. And commanding often nearly if not the same inflated prices as the MFG models. I'm not sure how the inflated values have held up in the down economy. But IMO, it's a High Standard Sentinel. And to a buyer looking for a Sentinel, the store brand models are considered of pretty much equal value as the MFG model.

Thanks. That is what I thought. 0
