DPMS uppers and lowers?

From my experience, the DPMS is top shelf. For that price, I am assuming that the uppeer is not complete, and needs a bolt carrier, and bolt? If it is complete, then you shouldn't be wasting your time here, and should be on the way home with it!

This is the complete upper. Flattop with 16" stainless bull barrel. Has a picatinny gas block. No forward assist and no dust cover. Supposedly a decent upper from the reviews I read. I just wanted to get more opinions before laying down the green.

    Thanks, Don

I own two DPMS complete guns. No problems with either.

I have a DPMS left-hand carry-handle upper on a Superior brand lower and it has been flawless. Twist rate for heavy bullets. Sounds like a good opportunity to me.

I too had a long wait (six months) for my DPMS 6.8 upper but it was for a 20 inch rather than the more popular 16 inch barrel. That was also during the height of the frantic gun buying when Obama came in to office. I expect wait times are considerably shorter now. Bottom line on the DPMS upper is that I couldn't be happier with it and it works great on my Colt lower.

You should try shopping on the auction side, or other fine establishments like Midway. That could be the reason DPMS has a big backlog. Personally, I can get my hands on what ever you want from DPMS(or any other manufacturer), in less than a week. One has to be more dilligent when shopping.
