Lyman scope
I recently mounted a Lyman Wolverine scope on my pre 64. I did not know the recticle move with adjustment instead of the lenses. Now my crosshairs are off center to be sighted in. Is there a way to correct this without shimming it? I already shimmed it a little. If I go any more it will be obvious. I know the Lyman Alaskan has a great reputation, but I'm not so sure about the other models.

Windage, elevation, or both?
If windage, a Redfield mount will give you some adjustment there.
I don't know of an elevation adjustable scope mount any more.0 -
It has weaver bases and the rings are 2 piece [top and bottom] with allen screws. It is off on the windage. I have shimmed the rings on the base but still have a ways to go. I could probably back off the rings a couple turns on opposite sides and tighten the other side, but I was hoping for an internal adjustment. Bushnell used to make a set of rings for Weaver bases that had limited windage adjustment (by reversing one ring or the other). Don't know if they still offer these - if they don't, i'll sell you a pair of mine to try; if they don't fix you up, send 'em back. 0 -
You do know that scope takes 26mm rings, NOT 1", right? 0 -
thanks, yes it is 26mm. If I can't figure out how to center the crosshairs or shim it enough, I will probably put another scope on. 0 -
If you can find a a Bausch and Lomb or Leupold Adjusto-Mount and 26mm rings for your Mod 70 you can center the reticule and make windage and elevation adjustments in the mount. 0
