#4 buck shotshell load
I tried a load in the Lyman # 4 shotshell reloading manual
27 #4 buck WAA hulls WAA12R wad.Couldn't get all the buckshot in the hull.Is this load wrong or am I doing something wrong, also using 24.5 grains of Herco

If you cut the wings off and use just the base of the wad, you can get all 27 in there.
I ran into the same thing and just load 26 in mine.
It is a PIA to load buck, but I use them in matches.0 -
Hi Dick
Thanks for the info.I know its a pia almost not worth the effort, but I'd sure like to see how they pattern in my model 97 riot gun.
Thanks for the info.

I use a "air wedge" wad then nitro wad. You will find that #4 shot mixes in between the spaces of #4 buck resulting in a duplex load. I call 'em 4x4"s and it cuts them down! Six of them in a model 12... leaning in the corner...I sleep sound. 0
