IF it does go into production then it will be an NFA item.

There was quite a lengthy recent thread on this in General discussion. See here:

    http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=498135

To get right to the point, the gun was brought out as a prototype at the recent SHOT trade demo show in Las Vegas, and the BATFE decided it was a short-barreled shotgun (which is illegal without lots of Federal paperwork), causing much consternation!

Therefore, the likelihood of this gun ever actually being commercially manufactured approaches zero.

Don't hold your breath waiting to buy one. . .it ain't going to happen.

In my opinion, the gun is ridiculous anyway, its gigantic, and the selection of ammo for 28 gauge shells is miserable.

I figure if they can scare up a "sporting purpose" exemption for it, the ammunition will come. There are all manner of Judge-specific .410 loads that did not exist before the revolver came out. The 28 could go the same way, if they can get it by the feds.

For all of those interested, and not to hi-jack the thread, at the SHOT show, S&W introduced what will most likely be a reliable version of the 45/410 revolver. It handles 45 Colt, 45 ACP, and 410 shot shells.
